... And I just found out that our roommate is moving out. A place opened up right near his school/workplace.

So we're looking for a new housemate again. (Or, I suppose, an affordable two-bedroom apartment near downtown, which could save a lot of gas money, but I really don't think we want to move again.) Does anyone need a place?

When it rains, as they say. I'm sorry everything is piling on you all at once. Life seems to do that periodically.

Sadly, the only person I know who is in need of a place to live isn't going to have any money until the twenty-fifth, when her financial aid kicks in. Also, she isn't a Reedie, or particularly erudite, so she probably isn't the kind of person you want.

Those are not the principal qualifications, really; our housemate has to be able to cope with Reedies, but daily routines, habits, and ability to communicate like an adult are more important. Feel free to not send her our way if you genuinely think we wouldn't work together, but Ed actually isn't a Reedie or particularly erudite and we'll miss him.

I just wanted to poke Jay about being a snob, because he did, in fact, express a pronounced preference for Reedies the last time he needed a new roommate.

No, I love Ash, but I would not consider her a good fit for you guys. She is young, flaky and oversexed, even by my standards. She would also likely proposition both of you in short order, and I have no desire to be responsible for that.

We seem to agree that Reedies are better people to look to for housemates than the general population. It's oddly provincial, perhaps, but being a Reedie seems to have a tendency to make you much more comfortable, on average, with other Reedies than people in general.

Okay, so "pronounced preference" wasn't an exact quote. My point remains.

... you can generally trust Reedies to not run off after a month or steal your shit to buy meth, right?
